Participation Requirements & Notes
- Driver age
- Drivers must be 26 years of age or over. Non-driving passengers are welcome at any age, by prior arrangement.
- License requirement
- A valid driver's license is mandatory — one of: · Japanese driver's license, or · IDP under the 1949 Geneva Convention, or · For licenses from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco or Taiwan: a national license plus an official Japanese translation (issued by JAF, or your embassy/consulate in Japan). IDPs under the 1968 Vienna Convention are not valid in Japan. Foreign nationals residing in Japan for 3+ months must hold a Japanese driver's license.
- Transmission
- Most vehicles are manual (MT); only the R35 GT-R is automatic. MT driving experience is required for the manual cars. Guests who can drive automatic only must inform us at booking.
- Insurance & liability
- Third-party injury and property damage: unlimited. Occupants: personal-injury cover up to ¥10,000,000 per person. Vehicle damage: the guest pays up to ¥150,000 for repairable damage, or up to ¥1,000,000 if the vehicle is written off — this is the maximum charged. Traffic fines are the guest’s responsibility. The cap does not apply to damage from driving under the influence, without a valid license, or in serious breach of the tour rules.
- Tour format
- All tours are self-drive; the booked guest operates the vehicle. No chauffeur is provided. Non-driving passengers may join by prior arrangement.
- Booking deadline
- Up to 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time
- Severe weather
- In the event of severe weather (heavy rain, strong wind, typhoon, dense fog, snow, etc.), cancellation will be communicated no later than 4 hours before tour start. A full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
